classroomINDOOR CLASSROOMS, There are three classrooms where students may prepare for their day’s fieldwork and then later reflect on the significance of their findings.Computer facilities are available. Each classroom seats approximately 25 students at tables, though classroom size can be extended by removable partition walls.

 

SPECIALIST STAFF, Our field sessions are curriculum linked to provide students with practical field experience and skills. Our specialist staff can provide either a few sessions or a complete programme tailored to your needs. Alternatively they can help visiting lecturers with their local knowledge.

 lyme BeachUNIQUE OUTDOOR CLASSROOM, Join us in our unique outdoor classroom where students can make predictions, design practical investigations and debate theories and concepts. Here education is fun. Students can enthusiastically share their ideas with others and be inspired for a lifetime. They see first hand contemporary issues affecting our coastline and countryside from cliff erosion, coastal processes and management of freshwater pollution and tourism in Lyme Regis and surrounding area.

Water  testMETHODS/FIELDSTUDY SKILLS, We adopt a scientific approach throughout, from initial hypothesis formulation, through the subsequent stages of planning, data collection in the field, data analysis, graphing to final presentation of results. Initiative is encouraged. We revise our programmes in response to teacher feedback and information from Awarding Bodies.For all key stages – primary, secondary, tertiary. - we offer a mixed programme of geography, environmental studies and activities aimed at developing personal confidence and team building skills.

 

OTHER SUBJECTS, Although the area is best known for its scientific sites it is steeped in history, particularly Tudor and Stuart times; courses can be arranged for this if required.
